EVERY SATURDAY IN SEPTEMBER, CHECK OUT KIMO NEVIUS AT PAIA'S MOANA BAKERY & CAFE (7-9PM)

For four Saturdays in September, singer-songwriter Kimo Nevius will be showcasing his songs—new and old—in a series of shows at Moana Bakery and Café in Pa‘ia.

Kimo writes and plays a unique brand of folk music steeped in Hawaiian history and culture. Many of his songs deal with Maui in the nineteenth century—a time of whaling ships, sugar plantation, and cowboys, and his songs narrate stories of everyone from commoners to kings. When he’s not writing about Maui, his work still has a tendency to focus on the past—from the warm glow of nostalgia to remembering the feeling of first love.

Each show in September will be on a different theme: one night will be love songs, one night will focus on Hawaii, one will be about remembering the past—and one will be full of surprises.

Kimo performs 7–9pm each Saturday in September (that's Sept. 3, 10, 17, and 24) at Moana Bakery and Café, located at 71 Baldwin Ave. in Pa‘ia (just mauka of the public parking lot).
