Exotica innovators The Waitiki 7 are bringing their lush, tiki-esque sounds to Stella Blue's Supper Clubs on May 13 & May 15! Timed to honor the 100th anniversary of the birth of Martin Denny - the pioneer of this genre - these fantastic evenings will be filled with exotica’s tropical soundscapes, Latin dance grooves, potent jazz chops, and bird & animal calls too, of course! Seating for the shows begins at 6:00, with a 7:30 showtime, and the cost is $60 for a 4-course dinner/ show or $30 for show-only seats. Stella's Supper Club room will be transformed into the Polynesian jungle for these two special nights featuring a tikified cocktail and food menu. sunday night we'll also feature Cudra Clover, Maui's only exotica DJ, podcaster and purveyor of all things Exotica! Zaccai Curtis - piano • 2006 GRAMMY Jazz Nominee (Christian Scott) • Bronx, NY
Jim Benoit - vibraphone, xylophone • Boston, MA

Abe Lagrimas Jr. - drums, vibraphone • Waipahu, HI & Los Angeles, CA
Randy Wong - upright bass, Bandleader • Honolulu, HI & Boston, MAThe musicians of The WAITIKI 7 bring together a wealth of culture and superb musicianship. At its core are three of Hawaii’s finest musicians: Percussionist & exotic bird caller Lopaka Colon (son of original Martin Denny percussionist & bird caller Augie Colon), jazz drummer Abe Lagrimas Jr., and bassist/bandleader Randy Wong. Exotica has always had strong Latin Jazz influences; in W7, these tenets are held taut by Zaccai Curtis (piano) and Tim Mayer (winds) — both of whom have received past Grammy nominations in Latin and Jazz. Crossing over from the classical world comes the group’s youngest member: twenty-one year old vibraphonist Jim Benoit. The brilliantly exuberant Helen Liu (violin) rounds out this phenomenal group. Six of the members compose and arrange for the group. www.Waitiki7.com
